The EWWW in Plain, WA was awesome! Eleana and Willie’s Wedding Weekend was fun and through it all Meg and I (and Grant:) felt like family. We spent some time at the rehearsal with the family and Grant was able to come along and he had a blast (he’s a total ladies man:). Their was something special about how the wedding day went. Ultimately it was about having a great time with family and friends and celebrating Eleana and Willies new marriage. By the way Grant’s grandma thanks you for hiring us so that she could spend some time with him - Congrats to you both! Enjoy.
I know this is a photo from the reception to start but it really represents the wedding day well for Meg and I. They are obviously best friends that love each other, pretty cool.

This is the self-proclaimed group of ‘Cougars’. No, really, they all went to Washington State:).

It’s impossible not to smile while checking out this laughter!

HDR is a fun way to process several images into one but I think it tends not to work as well with people in the photo. But it didn’t stop me from trying:). I’ll keep working on it.

We’d love to hear your comments!

When we met Sean and Lindsey at Katie and Ian’s wedding, we knew we would be shooting their big day. They are such a fun and great couple! This wedding had the feel of a great destination wedding right here in our own great state. Roche Harbor is such a beautiful place and it was such a gorgeous day. Congratulations Sean and Lindsey - Thanks for allowing us to be a part of it all!

Luckily all of these monkey’s could see, ha!

Ahhh, a beautiful Northwest Island weekend!

One of our absolute favorite DJ/Emcee combos was working this wedding. Bella Musica is amazing. Yeah, we kinda like em:). Oh below, Ben and Jess break away for a quick dance:).

There was one photo that we knew we would be getting for this session (so I’ll save that for last) and see what else we could come up while we hung out with Kjirstin and Jeremy. Kjirstin is the co-owner of Lettered Streets Coffee House so of course we started there. We often start engagement sessions by asking couples what it is they are expecting to get out of these shoots and they tend to have no clue what they are signing up for, ha. And that’s how we like it. They are just meeting up with us and can’t usually wait to see what we’ve come up with:). What a fun challenge and cool job we have! Congrats to you two and enjoy.

Meg’s so good at getting shots of me shooting:).

And our Bellingham version of ‘The Times Square Kiss’.

Enjoy and you can leave comments below!
And if we’ve photographed your wedding recently, I’m working on your blog posts as I type:).

Meg, Grant and I had a great time hanging out with Erin and Ren for their engagement session. Let’s be honest, any interaction that begins with Dick’s Drive-In is going to be rad!
Erin reminded me that I introduced her and another friend to Kerry Park on Queen Anne many years back and that she wanted to do the photos there. And it was a perfect evening to hang out at and around the park. Both Erin and Ren are hilarious and we had a good time just laughing and hanging around as much as photographing. Congratulations you guys and we are looking forward to your big day! Enjoy.

Personal admission - I totally missed Erin rockin’ the ‘leg guitar’, so I had them re-enact it. Faux Journalism at its best.

They caught me… What’s my line? It’s not easy being a 6′3″ fly on the wall:). Awesome.

Meg rocked this shot, I love it!

And this shot.

I’m always working hard to capture cool new creative images but let’s be honest, this is an oldy but a goodie.

I had fun re-enacting a photo from Tony’s past. Since Gehrig looks so much like his dad these days, Tracy wanted to redo a photo from when Tony was Gehrig’s age.
Below you’ll find the ol’ photo from back when Tony was young and Gehrigs recent photo shoot. Crazy similar. And while we were together we obviously needed to do some other photos of Gehrig. This turned into a great Father’s Day gift for Tony. If you would like to give dad the gift of a photo shoot, let me know and I’ll set something up for you! Enjoy.

Pretty amazing eyes, eh?

Meg, Grant and I were able to photograph what I will refer to as the ‘Aase Posse’. It was fun to reconnect with many of them and also get some great shots for them. Aaahh, I’m so glad spring/summer is here. Plants have leaves again. Bellingham is so green right now:). Enjoy!

Can you locate the proud momma/grandma in the group, awesome!

It just seems like yesterday I was photographing a very young Connor and now Brad and Amy are bringing along lil Grayson to this shoot. I had a great time to do some family photos of them. Grayson was super cute but the ‘Con’man definitely stole the show. I think I’ve blogged about this before but it’s such a cool privilege to photograph so much of so many peoples lives as time passes and life changes! Congrats guys, we’re excited to see Connor perform big brotherhood amazingly well (maybe he can show Grant the ropes as well:). Enjoy!

Connor was great with holding and cuddling Grayson for a while:).

The whole fam!

Why not submit this to anyone including Gap Kids as a portfolio? And yes, that bottom one is an attempt at Blue Steel… or was it El Tigre?

Comments - The gift that keeps on giving!

Don + Danielle
Meg and I were freaking out about this shoot (we heard it was supposed to be sunny:). After a dark winter we like to joke that we don’t remember how to photograph with that big orb in the sky. Actually we planned it perfectly and shot right in that sweet spot of time right before and during sunset. Congrats to you two. Enjoy!

Don, I wanted to thank you, I got the bat the next day, ha! Awesome.

I’ll go ahead and keep this joke between us.

It’s another, while Meg was shooting this…

… I was working to get this.

We had fun playing the with the long shadows.

Back by popular demand… Meg and Grant are back on the blog. Enjoy!
Meg preparing for her two week boot camp? Or just me playing with lights at Boulevard Park:).

Grant if very content after a good bath.

He is that kid that smiles at you until you raise the camera and then bam, straight face, but I love it!

I try to do an engagement session with every couple that we are doing wedding coverage for. One of the reasons is so the couple can get some awesome photos that are a little different than on a wedding day. The second and more selfish reason we do engagement photos is to hang out with our clients before the big day. We want to know how we’ll all click on the wedding day, especially with the Nikon brick, err Nikon D3 against my face. So it was with Eleana and Willie. We weren’t able to do their engagement shoot until right before their wedding but it was really great just to hang out them with. We had a great time and realized that… C’mon this is going to be very fun, funny and let’s be honest, easy:). Thanks to you two for meeting up with us and we can’t wait to reconnect this weekend in beautiful Leavenworth! Enjoy.

My new favorite joke when taking individual shots of people is… Yes, now you have a new profile pic for your facebook.

Is this not a scene from a movie or what?

Meg was sneaky and walked away with the ring and got this shot while I was shooting Eleana and Willie from the the opposite side.

I love how diverse a single location can be with the right angles and some isolation. For example while I was taking this photo…

… Meg was capturing this:).
