Some December Portrait Highlights –

Monday, December 28th, 2009

It’s been a crazy last couple of months for Evantide and that doesn’t even include Christmas:-).  Wrapping up the wedding season and cruising through the holiday portrait season.  Here are a few highlighted portrait sessions.  Enjoy.

I ran into Krissy at Starbucks and she was telling me about how she wanted to do some photos of her family.  These images are round 1 – We met on a Saturday when the temperature with wind chills was probably about 15 degrees and were shooting outside.  I love the images we got but I’m stoked to reconnect with them at a more bearable temperature and finish up this session.  So keep an eye out for this family again soon:).

We connected with Elliot and his parents for a shoot and I can’t get over how cute he is.  He might be giving Grant a run for his money.  If you scroll down to the Halloween photos, Elliot is the lil fella in the pot:-).  Enjoy these holiday images.

I seriously can’t get over how cute he is!

It was so fun to see this photo on their Christmas card this year.

Okay so these next photos are a little different but why keep things the same, right?  Shady is our neighbor and spends a lot of time at our house.  It’s his first portrait session so he was a little nervous but he did well:-).

I love Shady’s expression in this photo.  Ha, it kind of says – ‘Mom, I’m doing this for you!’.  Love it.

Santa Photo – Week Two

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

This last weekend we did week two of Santa photos with Industrial Credit Union.  I know I’ve said it before but how cool is it that they offer this free to the community?  I love it.  And as a side note, if your kiddo got photo with Santa, you can pick up your photo at the branch where the photo was taken.

One of the things I love about doing these images is getting to see so much many people from the community and gaining context to them as a family.  Here are a few highlights from the more than 300 children we photographed on Saturday.

Julie and Matt had the privilege of holding the title of youngest visitor to see Santa at 8 and half days old.  Don’t tell them but a four day old came in later, but it was a good run Carter.

I love how enthralled Clara was in Santa, these two are so adorable!

Not that Colton can be out done by his outfit but some of the kiddos were so stinkin cute in their get-ups.

These next two photos exude – ‘Dude, I’m in Santa’s lap, how awesome is that?’

So many of the little ones couldn’t help but snuggle into Santa’s soft jacket.  Elliot was so happy.

This amazing family of seven made visiting Santa their first official adventure out as a crew.  Shannon and Nate were blessed with these two lil twins the week of Thanksgiving.  How adorable are they?

Last week we have Grants photo taken with Santa.  So we decided to have a family photo taken this time.  We still can’t get over how stinkin cute Grant is!

Working at our wedding –

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

It’s been fun hearing from lots of couples that are getting engaged as they are checking out our services.  It got me thinking about our wedding day.  We only worked for a short time on our wedding day (2 self takes:-).  My uncle got this shot of us doing a quick self take during the ceremony.  Still love it!  If you are getting married and or know someone that is.  You should definitely tell them about Evantide Photography, our 2010 wedding season is shaping up well.  We’re so excited for the coming year and to see what God has in store!

By the way, Evantide has a pretty big announcement coming in the next couple of days.  It’s going to change the face of Evantide Photography (literally, we’ll be prettier:).  We’re stoked to share.

2009 Santa Photography

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

It was so fun to see so many people turn out for Santa photos today.  Many who have made this a tradition and many new faces as well.  As is expected with Industrial Credit Union, they again provided a great set and Santa was amazing as well.   Here are a few stats from the day -

-Approximately 200 people got their photograph with Santa

-Santa got his photograph 647 times:-).  He was amazing today.

-The girl gift most requested was a doll house

-The boy gift most requested was lego’s

-The most requested gift overall was definitely a ‘real’ cell phone.  Ha, I thought this was hilarious… kind of.

Well here are a few faves from the day.  And for those that couldn’t make it.  We’ll be at the Industrial Credit Union at Barkley Village next Saturday from 10-3 pm.  See you there.

Does it get any cuter than this, I mean really?

This girl couldn’t have adored Santa anymore!

Dylan was so enthralled by Santa’s beard that he may not have realized Santa was there as well:-).

These were my favorite moments.  Having the kids look at the camera is a tradition but capturing these youngin’s share a moment with Santa is so much fun.

‘Shh, don’t tell my mommy.’

And a proud moment for this poppa was Grant’s first photo with Santa.  I’m glad I happened to have my camera available, ha.

Did you get your photo taken with Santa as a kid?  How did you respond to his yearly appearance?

Jessica + Brandon – Seattle Wedding Engagement Shoot

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Meg and I are getting so excited for our upcoming 2010 wedding season.  Cool people, cool locations, cool vendors, cool… photographers.  Oh wait, that’s us:-).  This last weekend we met with three couples that we’ll now be photographing next summer and we also met with a couple to do an engagement shoot (exciting times!).  Jessica and Brandon were not only awesome models for the shoot but total troopers.  It wasn’t raining but it was not warm for sure.  Meg and I had so much fun and laughed a lot!  We kept saying to eachother that they made the backs of our cameras look good!  Jessica and Brandon – thanks for being game for crazy locations and poses, they turned out so great.  Enjoy!

I asked Brandon to show me epic and he said – ‘You need to look up and to the left to be epic’ and he was right.

Bellingham Family Photography II

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

October and November were a whirl wind of portrait, family and newborn sessions mixed in with being on the road a few times and other wild craziness so I missed on doing some serious blogging.  So I wanted to do some highlights from some of the shoots that didn’t make the blog.  We have had such a great time with these families and friends.  Enjoy!

How adorable is little Gwen?

Hadrian + Sarah – The Destination Wedding Photographer

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

This wedding was definitely a testament of things working out how they are supposed to.  At least for the side story of the photographer.  Just before we left for Phoenix and were getting ready to fly out, I had a pretty severe ear infection and flying wasn’t a good idea.  So we packed up Meg, Grant and I and we were on a road trip.  Grant did amazing all the way down to Phoenix.  I guess, all that to say that we made it for the wedding and had an amazing day with Hadrian and Sarah!

It was a cool emotional day for this couple and their family and friends.  It wasn’t just a wedding but a sending off of Sarah to the great northwest.  Hadrian’s parents were excited to be marrying off their second child in just a few short months (see Dora and Jason in the archives of the blog).  It was so fun to see Sarah and Hadrian absolutely adore each other.  Thanks to you two for letting us be a part of your big day.  It was an honor and a privilege!  Enjoy.

A Roof Over Our Heads –

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Just a few short weeks ago Meg and I had the privilege of heading down to Phoenix for a beautiful ‘warm weather’ wedding.  More about that in the next post:-).  We wanted to thank Anita for opening her home to us as a family.  They were very hospitable and we appreciate it very much.  As a thank you we were hoping to do a family photo shoot, unfortunately much of her family was out of town.  So we did a quick few shots with her daughter and I also did some photos of their home.  Hopefully these will be helpful to them as they look to sell their place.  Here are a few images, enjoy!
