Evantide – The Business Side

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Not only are we visual people as far as photographing people and our other subjects… but I looked over from my desk today and saw how Meg prepared for us to hand off our many shoots and jobs from this last week and a half and it made me laugh.  We are visual people in general.  She had lined up all of our shoots and jobs so that we can see, send off and check off the list each job in order.  I had to take a photo and it got me thinking – I haven’t talked enough about two things:

1.  Beautiful canvases that we can get done for you of the images we capture.  These photos don’t begin to do justice the awesomeness and beauty of these works of art!

2.  Our friends at Bison Letter Press that did all of our material that we hand off to our clients.  They did such amazing work with our Business Cards, Greeting Cards, Disc Sleeves, and Handle Bags.  I’ll need to do a post that really shows off their work.  Thanks guys!

This is what I turned and saw.  Funny and photographable:-).

If you see your name on one of those green envelopes… Yep, that means we’re just finishing up your photos, whoo hoo!

It’s a family shoot – Tacoma Family Photographer

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

Meg and I really love to continue to photograph people we have already photographed.  But it’s even better when they are great friends!  Annette and Matt had us down to capture their beautiful family and of course we had a great time.  Enjoy these teasers!

Ha, don’t forget that if you suggest it, it’s highly likely that we’ll photograph it:-).

Just for ol’ times sake, a shot of the two of you!

Elliot is 1 – Bellingham Toddler Photography

Friday, May 28th, 2010

I couldn’t get over how happy Elliot was through our whole photo shoot.  He had a blast and that made the complete session great.  Ryan and Anna brought a long a cute little Radio Flyer bike for him to hang out with and he had a so much fun, maybe more pushing and less riding:-).  For this post I let Meg choose the photos to be on the blog.  It’s fun for us to mix it up every once in a while because I would have chosen several different images so here is a taste of what Meg enjoyed from the shoot.  Well Mr. Elliot, welcome to toddler’dom.

Can’t get over his cuteness!

This was Meg’s favorite.

We’d love to hear what you think.  You can leave comments below!

Aurora’s Turn – Bellingham Toddler Photographer

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Grant isn’t usually able to go with us on our shoots.  We want to be able to focus on the task at hand.  But these recent shoots involve his friends from our birthing class like I said in Ashlyn’s post.  So Grant insisted on coming a long and I think we’ll utilize this time to teach him a few things about composition:-).  We had fun with Aurora hitting up a couple of great spots in Fairhaven and finishing strong at Katie’s Cupcakes on Harris St.!  Enjoy these photos!

I ask Grant really take my perspective and obviously the best way to do this is by climbing on my back.  He really seemed to get it:-).

Adorable family!

Aurora had no problem diving right into her Red Velvet cupcake.  Saweet!

I was surprised by the lack of cake on her dress.  Well done beautiful Aurora!

Ashlyn’s Turning 1 – Bellingham Children’s Photography

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Meg, Grant and I have been having a blast connecting with several of the families from our birthing class and it was no exception when we were capturing Ashlyn’s first birthday photos.  Here is a quick preview from the shoot!

Seriously, can’t get over Ashlyn!

This tree confuses me, I can’t tell if it’s spring or fall.  Love it!

Based on the looks in the background, who do you think she gets this lil look from?  Sorry Nicole, I had to ask:-).

She was really hoping for a close up.  Like ‘bring it in tight’ close up!

And she got it:-).

It’s just chocolate, no big deal.

All hands were on deck for this clean up shot.

We’d love to hear your thoughts!  You can comment below.

A glimpse into our lives – Bellingham Photographers

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

It’s a rare chance that we hop in front of the camera, and here’s why :-)

But, we got a good one!

Last weekend we headed down to Seattle!  An often occurrence for our little troop of 3!  We had a great meeting, a fun time seeing my family, and finished strong with a photo shoot!  We met up with Tami, Colm, and Brendan at the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle.  It is such a cool place to explore – that is when you don’t have two hungry toddlers!  Lucky for us, Tami is the brains that helped start Evantide oh so long ago!

So we handed her the camera to capture a quick shot of the three of us!  I love the first one because it is so us!  Aaron is laughing – he does that a lot and I love it! Grant is letting his ‘bubble’ be known – and I am breaking that bubble! And how in the world does Aaron let me out of the house looking like that!! C’mon!! I have an amazing hair dresser that I feel like I disappoint her every time I put my hair in a pony tail!  Sorry Steph!!

If you are ready for your family photos to be updated – shoot us an email and let’s set something up!!

Isabella Shalom – Bellingham Newborn Photography

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Many of our clients often become friends a long the way as we work to photograph images that capture a specific time in their life.  Other times we photograph family and friends so we start with a specific connection that is the foundation of our photo shoot.  With this next family (ha, even that is amazing to say:-) there is not only a special bond but an amazing connection for Meg and I personally.  We have been in a small group Bible study with Jenny and Charles for three years and much of that time was spent seeking God as these two amazing people desired and even yearned to see their family grow.  Jenny and Charles prayers were answered  this last week as they adopted their beautiful daughter Isabella Shalom.

What an amazing honor it was for Meg and I to be able to capture some images for this awesome family in this time.  In this time we couldn’t possibly describe their experience nearly as well as they could, so Meg asked Charles to write a few words -

“Isabella Shalom is embarking on a life abounding in love.  She has been the desire of our hearts for so long, and every moment now and evermore is cherished.  Thanks for helping us capture a few of those moments in a beautiful way.”  And off the record he wrote – “I always get 100% for cheese and emotion (I’ve cried happy tears at least twice a day for the last week and a half!)”.  I don’t think what he said was cheesy at all but it’s just another expression of how excited and joyful they are with the arrival of their daughter!

Congratulations to you both and welcome Isabella!!

I am so already jealous of her beautiful curls… and so is Grant, lol.

These next three are very ‘ahhhh’ moments for me:-)

She’s so precious!

The happy family.

This shot that Meg captured is one of my absolute favorites of all time.  Such a beautiful image with an amazingly beautiful little girl!  Well done Meg and again welcome lil Isabella!

We love reading whatcha think :-) .

Dylan Turned 1 – Toddler Photography :-)

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Meg and I had a blast catching Dylan and all of his antics for a first birthday photo shoot.  We did a few studio’ish shots with cake and then we headed to Fairhaven to do some more shooting.  Happy Birthday Dylan and I’m sure you and Grant will see each other soon!   Enjoy.

Grant turns 1 – Wow!! – Bellingham Family Photography

Friday, March 26th, 2010

People often ask if this past year has just flown by.  Having the opportunity to work at home frees me up to often see Grant throughout the day.  So my answer is generally ‘he seems to be about 365 days old’.  But looking back on the blog post about Grants birth shows me how fast Grant has been growing :-) .  Meg and I took yesterday to just be with Grant and each other!  It was awesome!  Grant was treated to his first chocolate cupcake from Katie’s Cupcakes in Fairhaven.  He had a blast.  Enjoy some photos from the trip.

Grant 1 year ago!

And today:-)

We created a little anticipation for him while we captured an image of his cupcake:-).

He was sweet enough to try and share.

And of course had to chase it with some formula, nice.

We love hearing your comments!

To: Grant

You have been such a blessing in our lives!  Your fun spirit, your giggles, your snuggles, and your love brings such joy to our family!  We love you so much!!!
