Brandon + Jessica – Newcastle Wedding Photography

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Jessica and Brandon had an amazing northwest summer wedding!  Beautiful weather, beautiful view and beautiful people.  What more could one want, oh of course, it was a beautiful wedding as well:-).  Meg and I really did have a blast with Brandon, Jessica and the rest of the crew… but I want to get to the photos and I’ll kind of have a running commentary along the way!

Jessica and Brandon’s recipe to success -

Venue – Golf Club at Newcastle

Event Coordinator – Geoffrey Gilmore

Florist – Geoffrey Gilmore

Caterer – Golf Club at Newcastle

Cake Artist – Creative Cake Designs

Music/DJ – Wavelink

Cinematographer – Willowcraft Media

Photographer – Evantide Photography

Newcastle is a gorgeous wedding venue inside…

… and out!

Jessica, you looked amazing!!  And Brandon… you looked fantastic as well!

As a side note, with Brandon’s help, I’m dubbing this one ‘Little House On The Prairie’.  Awesome!!

I’m pretty sure Brandon had no chance at this shot:-).

The Wooly Toad Bar was the perfect setting for a lot of fun photos!

The ladies.

C’mon, how could anyone pass up this shot?

Lebron ain’t got nothing on this billiard king!

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, a big kudos to Geoffrey Gilmore for all the hard work he put into helping make this day happen!

After the ceremony, we knew at some point we would be able to get some photos with the piper that plays in the evenings.  What we didn’t know was that while they were getting ready to sign the marriage license was right when he would start playing.  These were photos that we had talked up to Jessica and Brandon and they knew they wanted to have them captured, so we booked it down to the hills.  It was so worth it:-).  It was pretty funny, the piper saw the pace that Jessica was moving at and stopped what he was playing and began playing a rushed version of ‘Here Come’s The Bride’.  It was pretty cute.

Seriously, an amazing evening!

I love this big picture angle that Meg captured!

The toasts were both funny…

… and sweet!

I can’t get over this image of Jessica!

Abbie + Brandon – Tacoma Wedding Photography

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Abbie and Brandon pulled a pretty amazing wedding!  It was a great partnership of vision and DIY.  You could really sense that people rallied around their day to make it happen and happen beautifully.  We felt blessed to be a part of it all.  It was fun collaborating with Abbie from the beginning with the engagement session.  Well I have lots of photos to show you so I’ll get to it:-).  Congrats to you both and enjoy this peak into your day!

Abbie and Brandon’s Wedding Day Recipe -

Caterer – Chapel Hill Catering

DJ/ Emcee – Bella Musica

Flowers – *As soon as I hear who did the flowers I’ll fill this in:-)*

Dress – Anna’s Bridal

Officiant -  Geoff Mumley

Sharing their gifts with each other.  Awesome moment to watch from a distance:-).

You know, just some family ‘formals’:-).

I am a big fan of details… Like pockets in a dress.  Nice.

And this hat that Abbie had Brandon bring along it was a nice touch.

Brandon couldn’t have been more happy!

Abbie couldn’t have been more epic!

A little rain on the wedding day is supposed to be good luck right?

The Ugandan Orphan Choir was a part of the wedding ceremony.  This was a very cool moment before the ceremony got underway!

The wedding party was introduced in a big way.  A really big way, ha.

Thanks Brandon and Abbie for letting us join you on your beautiful day!

Here is a note from Abbie as we prepared for the engagement photos and her vision for the day -

“Brandon and I have both traveled quite a bit, and hope to one day travel together…so the overall theme for our wedding will be travel. It won’t be a blatant theme–more like subtle details. More specifically, it will have a vintage travel feel, with vintage suitcases holding programs, old maps underneath centerpieces, black and white postcards, etc. We are also using a collection of blue and green vintage glass we’ve found at thrift stores. We are excited!”

I’d say they nailed it!  Below is a collection of detail shots from the day.  On a side note, it was so cool to see how much they were able to utilize the engagement session.  Yay!

Julie + Micah – Bellingham Wedding Photography

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Julie and Micah’s wedding day just called out ‘Northwest’ to me.  Whether it was the plum and moss green color scheme, or the literal moss they utilized in their center pieces and throughout the decorations.  The feel in general was laid back and classic as well as a little cloudy:-).  I just felt at home the whole day:-).  It came together beautifully!!  I’ll get to the photos, there are a lot because I couldn’t narrow them down very well, it was tough.  Congrats to you both and all the best!! Enjoy this sneak peak.

Here is a recipe of success if you are planning your big day here in Bellingham!

Venue – Lairmont Manor

Florist – New Leaf

Caterer – Taste of Elegance

Band – Jesse Morrow and the Band

Hair Stylist – Plum Hair Studio

Meg snagged this shot to try and embarrass me, yet I’ve posted on the blog myself.  I know it’s difficult to stop staring but…

…Okay, much better.  Julie, you are so much better at this than I am.  I guess that’s a good thing, right:-)?

Meg rocked this shot!  New Leaf did a great job with this bouquet!

‘How you doin?’… Am I allowed to add captions to these photos?

Love, love, love this shot!  Meg always takes the awesome photos.

Lairmont Manor.

Dude, Micah, this is your wife!!

And why was Julie not taking a photo of me?

The awesome center pieces.

We love seeing the engagement photos being utilized.  Love it!

Meg and I feel so blessed that people continue to trust us to capture their beautiful day’s.  This next one is fun because we’ll be shooting Whitney and Ian’s wedding very soon as well!

We really <3 comments:-).

Welcome Ciara – Seattle Newborn Photography

Monday, July 12th, 2010

Meg and I always like being able to visit with Colm and Tami but this visit was special because we had the opportunity to capture some images of lil’ Ciara.  I think she was just 5 days old when we did the shoot?  Perfect age for a newborn session.  They usually sleep 22 hours a day, so hey, if she’s awake the whole time we’re there and we’re there for three hours, we are guaranteed atleast an hour of her snoozing:-).  She was so beautiful and again I was so jealous of her hair.  Any baby with hair makes me jealous, can’t figure out why:-).  Alright, less typing and more photos.  Welcome Ciara, it was really great to meet you!

She even finished by flashing us a little smile!  So, cute!

Bellingham Nature Photography

Monday, July 12th, 2010

With all the heat, I seem to be functioning better as a night owl as things cool down.  I even processed three photo shoots last night after 10 pm.  Even at 10 this computer has been keeping the room warm:-).  I took a quick break tonight to head down to the Chrysalis to take a few dusk photos.  It’s fun to take photos because I can and to mix it up a bit.  The sunset was at 9:10 and I took these at 10:15.  Enjoy and continue to keep your eyes out for our wedding and portrait bloggeration that is coming very soon!

It would be cool to see some more stars but just seeing a few is fun for me!

Bellingham Beginner Photography Workshop!

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

With all of the dSLR’s that people are purchasing in the last couple of years and a lack of understanding in how to utilize them…  We wanted to help people learn to begin taking their cameras off of Auto.  We did our first workshop back in February and everyone had a blast and learned some great info and we saw a lot of ‘A ha’ moments as they began to understand how the cameras worked.  There were several requests to do another round of this work shop and we made it happen last weekend.  We had a great time down at Boulevard learning the basics of shooting in manual and took some time to see it practice as well.  Thanks ladies for joining us and like I said if you have any questions please let us know!  Here are a few snapshots from our time together!

In chatting about shutter speed, they had to be quick to capture me in the air… I land quickly:-).

Emily let me use her to show how we look for and find great light.

Brenda let us utilize her to show how you can create depth and perspective.

I’ve been shot!

Thanks ladies for trusting us with you morning… We had a great time!

A Growing Family – Bellingham Family Photographer

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

A lot has changed in the last few days for this family.  Lindsay contacted us to do a family photo session this last week knowing that they would have a lil kiddo arriving on Monday.  We have friends in the last month who have had kiddos arrive weeks ‘early’ and weeks ‘late’, and now a kiddo that arrived at her appointed time on Monday morning:-).

Congratulations Lindsay and Larry and we looking forward meeting and capturing some images of lil J next week!  Enjoy a few from this shoot for now:-).

These were the simpler times.

Last minute advice?  Words of encouragement?  Warnings?

Awesome.  If he had a Facebook page, this would be his profile photo, for sure!

Lindsay – you’re gorgeous!! Just sayin!  (This is Meg writing!)

A family of four.  I love this photo!

With a quick shutter speed I was able to capture this… but what was really going on was…

… this :-) .

We’d love to hear what you think?

Ellyn + Kyle – Bellingham Wedding Photography

Monday, June 28th, 2010

We were so excited to have Ellyn and Kyle up to Bellingham and we had a great time.  It was fun to hit up some great Bellingham spots and of course finish the shoot of with lunch at Downtown Bobs Burger ‘n Brew, mmmm.

We are so excited for you wedding, enjoy this quick sneak into your photos:-)!

Ellyn and Kyle have a cool tree theme to their wedding so I couldn’t help but to take them to my all time favorite tree:-).  It performed as usual!

You both look amazing in this shot!

Evantide – The Business Side

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Not only are we visual people as far as photographing people and our other subjects… but I looked over from my desk today and saw how Meg prepared for us to hand off our many shoots and jobs from this last week and a half and it made me laugh.  We are visual people in general.  She had lined up all of our shoots and jobs so that we can see, send off and check off the list each job in order.  I had to take a photo and it got me thinking – I haven’t talked enough about two things:

1.  Beautiful canvases that we can get done for you of the images we capture.  These photos don’t begin to do justice the awesomeness and beauty of these works of art!

2.  Our friends at Bison Letter Press that did all of our material that we hand off to our clients.  They did such amazing work with our Business Cards, Greeting Cards, Disc Sleeves, and Handle Bags.  I’ll need to do a post that really shows off their work.  Thanks guys!

This is what I turned and saw.  Funny and photographable:-).

If you see your name on one of those green envelopes… Yep, that means we’re just finishing up your photos, whoo hoo!
