The Official Elaina Preview:-). Portrait Photographer

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

The goal for these and other images we captured for Elaina were to give a timeless feel… Well, also a Valentines Day gift to her hubby:).  The hard work Elaina and the ladies at Tart Beauty put into her look really left it up to us to isolate Elaina in a way that didn’t get in the way of that vintage feel.  We don’t really focus on our boudoir, pinup and themed photo-shoots in our portfolio but if you ever have a shoot like this in mind you can definitely contact us and we can show you some of our work.  Enjoy the preview Elaina!

Big thanks to Rocket Donuts in downtown for letting us utilize their space and theme!

I don’t know of anyone who would read this post that would approve of this next image.  But, hey…  It’s what I’m willing to do for my clients.

Go Mariners:-).

Once again, just a dude trying to show you ladies how it’s done:-).  Wow, this is embarassing!

We love hearing from you and whatcha think.

Dana Little – Concert Photography and Collaboration

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

If you have had a chance to visit our website recently, you have heard Dana Little and Tara Ward’s beautiful music!  I recently did some work with both of these great ladies and they are allowing me the privilege of utilizing their music on my site (Thank you both so much for that!).  This last weekend, I was able to head down to Wood’s Coffee at Boulevard Park and enjoy Dana in concert.  It was quite the treat.  She asked if I would bring along my camera and I happily obliged.  Thanks Dana for sharing your music with us and we all look forward to buying your album when you release it:-).  Here are some images from the show.

Woods at Boulevard was such a great venue for this show.  It had an intimate feel and was definitely at capacity (Dana did a second short set for those that weren’t able to come in:).

Taylor Rowland opened for Dana and did a great job!  If someone has info about him you can leave it in the comment section.

We love reading your comments:-)!

Family and Children’s Photographer – Kind of just flows:-)

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Meg and I had so much fun with the Hillmans, doing a few studio and outdoor sets.  Little Ezra and Finley are so stinking cute.  One of the things I love about childrens photography is capturing their eyes.  As you can see from this post and Danielle in the post below:-).  Enjoy.

Family Photography

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Meg and I met up with Krissy and fam last month for some outdoor photos and it ended up being ‘Great White North’ frigid.  So we ended up cutting the shoot a bit short and decided to meet up again when it was a little warmer.  And warmer it was:-).  We had a great time at the park and I captured some more great images to boot.  Enjoy.

Danielle, representing the family business well!

lil Carter – Newborn Photographer

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

It’s fun to meet little munchkins when then are really young, Carter is three weeks old and the cutest dude.  Looking at the photos I selected, I realize he looks older because he’s kind of sitting up in a couple of them.  Any of you that know us or our kiddo know how impressed we are with his neck and head control skills!  It was cool to do maternity and baby photos within about a month of each other for this Fam.  Congratulations to Julie & Matt and welcome Carter.  Enjoy!

He seems deep in thought, I’m sure he’s contemplating how he might single handedly save the world.

‘I’ve got it!’

We loved his robot themed room.  One of my favorites!

I love the reality of it all, in this shot:-).

Welcoming Carter into the world one comment at a time!

2009 In Self Shooting:-)

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Meg has a knack for capturing me at funny times during shoots.  Just because I like showing the ladies my posing prowess (no really, I’ll literally show them).  While I just get photos of Meg all cute and hard at work.  My New Years resolution is to capture Meg ‘workin it’.  Enjoy.

This is one of my faves.  Thanks for snaggin’ this Meg.

2009 In Engagement Photos

Monday, January 4th, 2010

We love shooting weddings.  But we wouldn’t have the great rapport we do on the wedding day without an engagement session.  It’s a relaxed and fun way for us to get to know our clients… And for them to get to know us.  Luckily, most don’t question choosing us after they really get to know us:-).  Enjoy this highlights from the last year.

2009 In Portraits

Monday, January 4th, 2010

We had a uber fun portrait year in 2009.  Maybe part of it was that we have a kiddo of our own but I can’t get over all these cute faces and I finished the blog with some adults as well:-).  You’ll notice a theme with the white backdrops quite often.  I’ve collected a really fun collection of beautiful children set against a clean white backdrop.  Love it.  Enjoy.

And a strong finish with cute little face that no one can resist.

Some December Portrait Highlights –

Monday, December 28th, 2009

It’s been a crazy last couple of months for Evantide and that doesn’t even include Christmas:-).  Wrapping up the wedding season and cruising through the holiday portrait season.  Here are a few highlighted portrait sessions.  Enjoy.

I ran into Krissy at Starbucks and she was telling me about how she wanted to do some photos of her family.  These images are round 1 – We met on a Saturday when the temperature with wind chills was probably about 15 degrees and were shooting outside.  I love the images we got but I’m stoked to reconnect with them at a more bearable temperature and finish up this session.  So keep an eye out for this family again soon:).

We connected with Elliot and his parents for a shoot and I can’t get over how cute he is.  He might be giving Grant a run for his money.  If you scroll down to the Halloween photos, Elliot is the lil fella in the pot:-).  Enjoy these holiday images.

I seriously can’t get over how cute he is!

It was so fun to see this photo on their Christmas card this year.

Okay so these next photos are a little different but why keep things the same, right?  Shady is our neighbor and spends a lot of time at our house.  It’s his first portrait session so he was a little nervous but he did well:-).

I love Shady’s expression in this photo.  Ha, it kind of says – ‘Mom, I’m doing this for you!’.  Love it.
