Be A Giver – ‘Get Hitched Give Hope’ Portraits

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

First of all, I can’t believe we’ve arrived in the month of September, yikes.  Summer is fading fast and I’m not ready:-).  I’m also excited because we tend to have mild beautiful weather in September and so far that’s held true in the last couple of days!

Okay, so here’s the deal, I have many friends who are working on an event in Seattle called Get Hitched Give Hope.  It’s an uber swanky event in Seattle where wedding vendors have offered their services but the catch is that all the proceeds go ‘To grant wishes to stage 4 breast cancer patients for whom the cure can’t come soon enough.’  What an amazing opportunity, right?  Well if you are getting married or want to attend the event, definitely follow the link as I place it all over this post! :-)

I was chatting with a couple of the organizers of the event and they are all set with their vendors that will be offering their wedding services for the auction… But Meg and I still wanted to help!  So with a some creative help from the GHGH ladies we came up with a plan, and here it is:

—–>>>>>For the month of September we’ll be doing our portrait sessions for a discounted rate starting at $200 and of that $200 we’ll be giving $50 to Get Hitched Give Hope!  Meg and I really believe this to be such a worthy cause and we are so excited to be able to help in any way we can.  So give us a call or send us an email and set up your portrait session today.  We do Families, Maternity, Babies, Children, Seniors, Musicians, Headshots, Pet’s…  I’ve attached some samples from the last few months to kind of give a taste of what we’ve been up to.  Enjoy and get a hold of us soon to set up a session!

Thanks to all the peops of GHGH for putting this event on and inspiring us to get involved as well.  If you haven’t followed one of the links yet, here it is again:-).

Kelly and Austin – Bellingham Wedding Photography

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

You may remember Kelly and Austin from their engagement session here.  After that shoot, the Pacific Northwest could have thrown us pretty much any weather and we would have shown it what’s up!  It ended up being a beautiful day and what an amazing crew of friends and family that was there to love and support Kelly and Austin as they tied the knot!  These two had so much fun with their theme and so did we:-).  Hello romantic garden wedding!

Enjoy this preview!!

Recipe for Success:

Venue: Evergreen Gardens

Hair/Makeup: Abby Atkins

Flowers: Botanikal Design

Caterer: Double Barrel BBQ

Bridesmaid Dresses: Anthropologie

Photographer: Evantide Photography

Are you wondering where Meg found this amazing surface for this ring shot?

Yep… Meg is good:-).  Nice. It’s fun to look around an ordinary kitchen and utilize this great stove fore the shot above! Secret is out!

Yep, spurs!  Woot.

Meg found some amazing light…

Bam!

We had a blast with this old Volvo.

Bam:-)!

Fun little collaboration with Kelly to get this next shot.  I love when that happens.

I couldn’t have planned or set up this up any better… They ran off to hide and celebrate alone for a moment.  Loved it!

Double Barrel BBQ, so good!

Kelly and Austin wanted a photo booth.  We made it a little less boothy and Kelly’s dad brought bunches of goods from his amazing prop studio.  Nice.  I’ll have to do a post on those shots sometime soon:-).

Austin had personalized cuff links made for each of his ‘dudes’.  So cool!

This light was soo amazing!!

Kelly serenaded.

I love our job!!

You can leave your comments and congrats below:-).

Evantide – The Business Side

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Not only are we visual people as far as photographing people and our other subjects… but I looked over from my desk today and saw how Meg prepared for us to hand off our many shoots and jobs from this last week and a half and it made me laugh.  We are visual people in general.  She had lined up all of our shoots and jobs so that we can see, send off and check off the list each job in order.  I had to take a photo and it got me thinking – I haven’t talked enough about two things:

1.  Beautiful canvases that we can get done for you of the images we capture.  These photos don’t begin to do justice the awesomeness and beauty of these works of art!

2.  Our friends at Bison Letter Press that did all of our material that we hand off to our clients.  They did such amazing work with our Business Cards, Greeting Cards, Disc Sleeves, and Handle Bags.  I’ll need to do a post that really shows off their work.  Thanks guys!

This is what I turned and saw.  Funny and photographable:-).

If you see your name on one of those green envelopes… Yep, that means we’re just finishing up your photos, whoo hoo!

Danielle and Todd – Qwest Field Engagement Shoot

Monday, June 21st, 2010

This was certainly a memorable shoot for us – not that all shoots aren’t memorable, but c’mon!! We were on the pitch at Qwest!!

These two are such a fun pair to be around!  Danielle and Todd are both heavily immersed in soccer!  They both coach club soccer teams in the greater Seattle area.  Their summer consists of coaching, tournaments, working and eating!  Oh, and their season tickets to the Sounders!  Reasons why we love them: “One request: Please don’t call between 11-1 on Saturday because we will be watching USA in the World Cup!!!”  These are our kind of people!

Aaron and I set up the shoot to be at Qwest Field.  Huge shout out to the Qwest Field staff!  Thanks Paula! You rock!!  Going into the shoot, we really had the mindset of ‘Yes, we’re shooting! But let’s also enjoy this!”  I mean, who doesn’t want to be down where the Freddy’s play? I know I do!!! :-)   After Qwest, we hit up the Sculpture Park just down the road!  What a unique place to be!

Danielle and Todd – we are so incredibly excited for your wedding in October!  Thanks for sharing this adventure with us!!

~Megs

Aaron is only 31 years old in this shot :-)   He is now 32!!! Love that guy!

What he sees!

Aaron, seriously!! Get up!! This is serious business!!

Oh, I see what you’re doing! Got it!

Danielle and Todd in their season ticket seats!!

I promise you that Danielle and Todd are in the following photo!!! Look hard!! Hint: Lower left!

Foul!

Please feel free to leave comments!

Thanks for looking!! ~Megs

Evantide Projects – Bellingham Photography

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

As we ramp up to the peak of wedding season in the next couple of months, we’ve also been working on some different projects around town.  We’ve had a great time shooting the beauty and people of this great town.  As we finish and the images are utilized I’ll tell you more about how some of these images will be utilized.  Enjoy!

Can you believe this is where we live?  Ahhh.

I love this because it almost replicates our snowy tree image.

Oh yeah, this one:-)

We love reading your comments and hearing what you think.

Bulldogs Senior Night – Sports Photography

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

As most of you know, I help coach the Mt. Vernon High School boys soccer team.  This is my third year and it’s been a blast watching them grow and hopefully helping just a little bit a long the way.  These guys have been ranked on the local, regional and national level and have been making state run’s each year.  At tonight’s game we’ll be celebrating the seniors as the regular season winds down.  But I don’t think any of the guys want the season to be over any time soon:-).

The Official Elaina Preview:-). Portrait Photographer

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

The goal for these and other images we captured for Elaina were to give a timeless feel… Well, also a Valentines Day gift to her hubby:).  The hard work Elaina and the ladies at Tart Beauty put into her look really left it up to us to isolate Elaina in a way that didn’t get in the way of that vintage feel.  We don’t really focus on our boudoir, pinup and themed photo-shoots in our portfolio but if you ever have a shoot like this in mind you can definitely contact us and we can show you some of our work.  Enjoy the preview Elaina!

Big thanks to Rocket Donuts in downtown for letting us utilize their space and theme!

I don’t know of anyone who would read this post that would approve of this next image.  But, hey…  It’s what I’m willing to do for my clients.

Go Mariners:-).

Once again, just a dude trying to show you ladies how it’s done:-).  Wow, this is embarassing!

We love hearing from you and whatcha think.
