Be A Giver – ‘Get Hitched Give Hope’ Portraits

First of all, I can’t believe we’ve arrived in the month of September, yikes. Summer is fading fast and I’m not ready:-). I’m also excited because we tend to have mild beautiful weather in September and so far that’s held true in the last couple of days!

Okay, so here’s the deal, I have many friends who are working on an event in Seattle called Get Hitched Give Hope. It’s an uber swanky event in Seattle where wedding vendors have offered their services but the catch is that all the proceeds go ‘To grant wishes to stage 4 breast cancer patients for whom the cure can’t come soon enough.’ What an amazing opportunity, right? Well if you are getting married or want to attend the event, definitely follow the link as I place it all over this post!

I was chatting with a couple of the organizers of the event and they are all set with their vendors that will be offering their wedding services for the auction… But Meg and I still wanted to help! So with some creative help from the GHGH ladies we came up with a plan, and here it is:

—–>>>>>For the month of September we’ll be doing our portrait sessions for a discounted rate starting at $200 and of that $200 we’ll be giving $50 to Get Hitched Give Hope! Meg and I really believe this to be such a worthy cause and we are so excited to be able to help in any way we can. So give us a call or send us an email and set up your portrait session today. We do Families, Maternity, Babies, Children, Seniors, Musicians, Headshots, Pet’s… I’ve attached some samples from the last few months to kind of give a taste of what we’ve been up to. Victoria – Senior Session

Tori rocked this photo shoot for her Senior year at Mt. Vernon High School. The ladies of Tart Beauty did a fabulous job with her hair and make up. I asked a Tori and she was telling me she loves to read, so we started at a the fun Eclipse Bookstore in Fairhaven and it worked perfect!! We had so much fun doing this photoshoot with you and all the best as you finish up your high school career Tori!!

A part of Tori’s graduation gift was this awesome VW. Love it! It screams Tori.

Tori’s mom and bro were a long for a quick shot of the family together!

Jamie and Caleb – Bellingham Engagement Photography

We knew when Caleb and Jamie showed up that they would be oozing with style and we were not disappointed when we met up for their engagement session. And no better place than downtown Bellingham! Although we haven’t tormented him quiet enough at work we love heading to downtown Bob’s often to eat tasty food chef’d by Caleb (yep, I just created another new word, once per blog post:-). Jamie was in it to win it and even brought a cool sign for the shoot. And they were willing to take for the team on the very first photo:-). Nothing like diving right in – Aaron – “Okay, you two, go a head and lay on the ground right here”. Ha, whatever happened to warming up, oops:-). We hope everyone enjoyed these photos as much as we did.

I love this!!

Baby Ella – Bellingham Family Photography

Meet baby Ella!! She is the pride and joy of Jenn and Nick! Baby Ella is their little miracle! Little miss Ella was so excited to come meet her parents, that she came a few months early! I call that ambitious for this beautiful little girl!!

We headed to Whatcom Falls Park for their family shoot! This is such a fun place to shoot because no matter what time of day it is, the light is always beautiful! Photographers dream!

Jenn – you look amazing and you’re a new mommy!! We had such a great time hanging out with you guys!! Can’t wait for our next round!

Love this! Being new parents ourselves – we totally get that you are enamored by every little thing your child does!

Laughing at my joke so hard that she closed her eyes! So sweet!!!

Ok – this is funny!!!! Nick is shielding baby Ella’s eyes from the pack of shirtless, sweaty, 6-pack sporting highschool boys that just ran by!!!

Shannon – Bellingham Senior Photography

Aaron and I had such a great time grabbing some senior photos for Shannon! She is going to be a senior at West Valley HS in Yakima – but has spent her summer here in beautiful Bellingham! Shannon is looking forward to graduation where she can then head onto Gonzaga to start college. Not so much for the basketball, but more for her degree in Psychology. She has a heart for researching traumatic experiences in children, and how to work with them.

We started the shoot off right by heading to our faves Leah and Anna of Tart Beauty. Is it ok to say you are addicted to people! These two are an absolute blast to hang out with and are incredibly efficient while doing hair and makeup at the same time! From there we stopped in some cool downtown Bellingham alleyways and then up to beautiful Westerns campus! It is such a versatile place to shoot with the old library, lots of brick, and beautiful trees that rotate color throughout the year. We are fortunate to live only blocks away from this campus and it’s such a playground for us to shoot in!

We’ll be doing a round two come this fall! Can’t wait to shoot this gorgeous face again! Enjoy!

Vanessa + Brian – Semiahmoo Wedding Photgraphy

What a day it was!! Holy moly! Vanessa is such a striking bride! She is so fun, mellow and at the same time a perfectionist, and the absolute light in Brian’s life!! Vanessa rocked her dress – thank you Vera Wang for making my gorgeous bride even more beautiful! Brian and Vanessa hosted their event at Semiahmoo Resort – and it was beyond gorgeous! Wendy Fisher and the crew did a great job creating a space to celebrate the marriage of these two! It was a nonstop party until they were sent off in a semi truck (Yeah, Lynden!!) that Brians grandpa had restored. Photos to come of that!

Brandon + Jessica – Newcastle Wedding Photography

Jessica and Brandon had an amazing northwest summer wedding! Beautiful weather, beautiful view and beautiful people. What more could one want, oh of course, it was a beautiful wedding as well:-). Meg and I really did have a blast with Brandon, Jessica and the rest of the crew… but I want to get to the photos and I’ll kind of have a running commentary along the way!

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, a big kudos to Geoffrey Gilmore for all the hard work he put into helping make this day happen!

After the ceremony, we knew at some point we would be able to get some photos with the piper that plays in the evenings. What we didn’t know was that while they were getting ready to sign the marriage license was right when he would start playing. These were photos that we had talked up to Jessica and Brandon and they knew they wanted to have them captured, so we booked it down to the hills. It was so worth it:-). It was pretty funny, the piper saw the pace that Jessica was moving at and stopped what he was playing and began playing a rushed version of ‘Here Come’s The Bride’. It was pretty cute.

Seriously, an amazing evening!

Bellingham Nature Photography

With all the heat, I seem to be functioning better as a night owl as things cool down. I even processed three photo shoots last night after 10 pm. Even at 10 this computer has been keeping the room warm:-). I took a quick break tonight to head down to the Chrysalis to take a few dusk photos. It’s fun to take photos because I can and to mix it up a bit. The sunset was at 9:10 and I took these at 10:15. Enjoy and continue to keep your eyes out for our wedding and portrait bloggeration that is coming very soon!

It would be cool to see some more stars but just seeing a few is fun for me!

My Fathers Day Gift :-)

Today was a bit of a rough day with our little man. Grant has been fighting an upper respiratory infection and it’s been a pretty rough go. But in the midst of it this morning, he was having a happy moment and was practicing mimicking mom and dad. My sister who was in town from Dallas got these shots with her little point and shoot and I’m so glad she captured them for me:-). Happy Fathers day to all you Dads out there!

I can’t get over how cute this next one is. He thought it was my turn to be photographed:-). Thanks for capturing these Christie!
