Bellingham Graduation Photography – Senior Photos

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

One of the last time’s I saw Derek was in middle school.  Ouch, I’m getting old.  I’m pretty sure I have less hair than the last time I saw him as well, ha.  Derek is enjoying his last few classes and he connects with his classmates and is excited to try out for some hockey teams this summer.  From what I hear, he is a pretty stellar hockey player.  Best of luck with everything Derek and thanks for letting us capture these photos for you!

We’d love it if you left comments letting us know what you think!

Katrina is the third and final opportunity for us to do Senior photos for the Plata family.  It’s been so much fun and this shoot was no different.  Congratulations to Katrina and to all of you Platas – “Let’s find a new and different excuse to hang out and do photos, eh?”  Looking forward to it.  Enjoy!

We’d love to read your comments!

Colin + Danielle – Bellingham Wedding Photography

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

With all of this crazy weather we’ve had to cancel and postpone some shoots and a couple times the weather still turned out great.  Welcome to the Pacific Northwest I guess:-).   About an hour before this shoot started it was raining like no other and I thought about calling and cancelling but I didn’t and I’m so glad.  We had a mostly dry shoot and had a great time.  Congrats to you both and we are looking forward to your wedding next month!

Meg got me again!

Whatcha think?  We love reading your comments!

Bulldogs Senior Night – Sports Photography

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

As most of you know, I help coach the Mt. Vernon High School boys soccer team.  This is my third year and it’s been a blast watching them grow and hopefully helping just a little bit a long the way.  These guys have been ranked on the local, regional and national level and have been making state run’s each year.  At tonight’s game we’ll be celebrating the seniors as the regular season winds down.  But I don’t think any of the guys want the season to be over any time soon:-).

Micah + Julie – A Tulip Field Engagement Session

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

I really wanted to title this blog post ‘Micah + Julie – A Not So Rosey Engagement Session’.  Get it?  It was in the tulip fields, not the roses:-).

Yeah, and that’s why I decided against it, lol.  Back to Micah and Julie, they were really excited to head down to the tulip fields to have their photos taken.  And we were excited to be a part of it.  The fields and the day were perfect for photos.  We had some sunshine, some dramatic clouds and just enough rain + wind to keep it interesting.  Well enough of my rant and on to the photos!  Julie and Micah, we can’t wait for your big day to be here!

I think Meg did an amazing job on these next two images.  It’s amazing how changing perspective by 4-5 feet can completely change the feel and context of an image.  In this first one, Meg was laying on the ground and I love how it really makes the clouds sweep over them.

In this second one, Meg is standing.  Which allows for the tulips to be more sweeping, but the clouds are still dramatic.

We couldn’t resist hanging out in the old sketchy bus while we were there, of course:-).

Thanks Meg ;-) .  I got real small, lol.

Finishing strong with Julie and Micah among the tulips!  And yes the rain in the background definitely did show up as we had just finished.

We love to hear your thoughts!

Abbie + Brandon – Wedding Engagement Photography

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Meg and I headed out to Tail Skid Meadows for a fun themed engagement shoot with Abbie & Brandon.  Ted out at Tail Skid was so gracious and accommodating during our shoot, willing to move his airplane and even use some of his gear.  It was so much fun.  If anyone is getting married in Whatcom County and asks me for a great location, Tail Skid is always one of the top spots for me.  Abbie seemed to have a really great time in her era specific get up.  Fun times!  Enjoy the preview!

This was so funny.  Meg was just sitting there photographing and this cat (which Dee and Ted aren’t really claiming:), plopped right into Meg’s unsuspecting lap.  Awesome!

This was one of my personal favorites.

And here’s Megs fave, of her captures, I love it as well.

Not that us photographers ever get lucky… but… I got kinda lucky on this shot and I’m glad!

Both Abbie and Brandon were troopers in this shot.  It’s not nearly as easy as it looks!  Meg did an excellent job on the capture as well.

We love hearing what you think?

Abbie + Brandon Sneak Peak

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Okay I have many shoots to blog and little time at the moment so I wanted to leave you with this amazing sneak peak into Abbie and Brandon’s engagement session, ha!  More to come very soon:-)

Brandon, why do you seem so concerned?

Evantide Wedding Album – A Families First Heirloom

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Meg and I love our job and what it is we provide as a service.  But there is more to what we have to offer above and beyond the photography.  We can’t get over our clients wedding albums, every time a new one arrives and we inspect it before sending it off to our clients.  These albums are fantastic, high quality goodness.  We understand that these albums are quite an investment but they are so worth it.  They are beautiful and built to last.  I’ve snapped a few photos of some albums from this past summer and would love to meet up if you want to touch, feel and look into these for your wedding.

These albums lay flat with almost no gutter in the middle which allows you to have beautiful panoramic’s in your album.

There are many options for covers including many leathers that are available.

One of my favorite aspects of these albums (aside from the imagery of course), is the guilded page edges.  The edge of each page is enclosed and sealed so that your album can last a very long time.  Our sample albums have been lugged around the puget sound to all of our meetings for four years and still look brilliantly new.

The albums are layed out digitally.  They are then printed and binded.

The cover will have an image that highlights your day as well as the branded title of your choice.

These albums are just one of the many beautiful final products we have to offer, but I would say one of the most important.  As they tell the story of your beautiful day in a beautiful presentation.  If you have any questions feel free to ask away:-).
